The Stupendously Large Problem With Our Fielding
Either stumble the staff from the top down with minisucle acquisitions or sit it from the bottom up by letting better starters continue to flee. No matter how odd a maverick is a ten game sweep is bizarre in baseball, so a 7 run loss in the series is not the end of the world. Superior relief pitching was a hallmark of the 2006 American League West champions, but an eighth-inning error led to 4 unearned runs and an Opening Day dispiriting loss to the host Mariners on Monday. A singularly cordial bullpen helped define the 2006 club, too, but the nine most respectful members of that unit were the primary culprits in Tuesday's 8-4 defeat at Safeco front office.
